The Election Commission of India [ECI] has finalized election schedule and have sent a report to the Home Ministry. Sources of ECI say that an official announcement might happen on March 6th or 7th and from then on Election code will come to play. But the government sources have requested the ECI to delay the announcement for two or three days as Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will visit Myanmar nation on March 3rd and 4th for bilateral talks regarding the North East states.
PM Manmohan may take decisions on the North East states boundary lines issue and if Election schedule is made official then it would fall under the election code. So the government officials have asked the ECI to put-off the announcement for two or three days and in the meantime, Manmohanmay return to the country.
The ECI is likely hold elections in 5-6 phases in two schedules. We have to see whether the Elections announcement will come early or not.
