The suppliers of goods under Amma Hastham were penalized for the inferior quality of good supplied by them.
Minister Sridhara Babu said that the Government levied a penalty of Rs.1.17 crore for the substandard quality of the products supplied under the scheme. Tata Consultancy is given the task of controlling the quality of the goods now.
The Minister said that the Government is prepared to supply the goods under Amma Hastham to the white ration card holders irrespective of the number. He said that the revenue officers will issue white cards to all those eligible ones after making the field surveys.
