Rahul Gandhi's Guidelines To Popularize Congress Party

In the Meeting held by the AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi with the Chief Ministers of the states under Congress rule gave some guidelines to popularize Congress party before 2014 general elections take place.

It is a good plan to retain the existing states rule as the party has recently lost power in four states in the Assembly elections.  Secondly, along with the strengthening act in the State, the states also should promote for the strength at the Center.

Primarily he asked the Chief Ministers to promote the idea that the Lokpal Bill recently passed in the Parliament is a measure taken by the Congress party to combat with the corruption.  Then Food Security and Land Distribution among the landless poor are to be promoted in the states.  He said that the prices should be controlled.

12 Chief Ministers attended the meeting that lasted for 5 hours. After the meeting the Chief Ministers met Rahul Gandhi separately to discuss the problems special for their states.

The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy also met him to discuss the hot topic of the state i.e. State bifurcation.  Rahul Gandhi expressed his inability to do anything on it as the decision was taken by the Congress Working Committee.  But Kiran Kumar insisted that if the bifurcation is taken as a small issue the party may lose hold on the state entirely.  Then Rahul said that the matter will be discussed separately some time.

Along with Rahul Gandhi and 12 Chief Ministers, the Union Ministers Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Kapil Sibal, Narayana Swamy, A.K.Antonly, Ahmed Patel and other senion leaders attended the meeting.
