AP High Court gave clear orders on Thursday that Gas supply should not be linked with Aadhar.  

High Court sent the directions to the cooking gas companies and State and Central Government.  High Court also asked the authorities to reveal it to the general public through news papers so that they will be aware of it.  

High Court bench comprising of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P.V.Sanjay Kumar gave the judgment responding to the petition filed by TSR Sharma from Saroornagar.  Challa Sitaramaiah arguing for the petitioner said that the gathering of personal details of the citizens is against the rules.  He argued that no such Bill was passed in the Parliament to do that.  As such, Sitaramaiah said, it doesn’t enjoy legal sanctity.

Then the Chief Justice asked the Assistant Solicitor what legal provision has given the right to get the personal details.  For that the Assistant Socicitor Ponnam Ashok Gowd replied that there no notification received from the Union Petrol Ministry to that effect.  

Finally after hearing all the arguments and objections from both sides the High Court Bench gave the orders that the supply of cooking gas should not be linked with Aadhar Card and the consumers should not be pressurized to provide Aadhar number.
