Diwali Gift to State Employees

The State Government has given a Diwali gift to its employees that is useful to many years to come.  It is a gift of Health Cards that enables them to get free medical treatment up to Rs.2.00 lakhs when the family members of the employees get admitted in the hospital for ailment.  No payment has to be made for the treatment.  It is a totally cashless treatment for the employees.  The treatment under the scheme will be done in the selected hospitals.  

A special feature in this is that the upper limit of Rs.2.00 lakhs is only an indicative figure.  But the treatment will continue even if the treatment cost exceeds Rs.2.00 lakhs without payment of cash.  Employees and their spouse, children and dependants like parents of the couple are covered in the scheme.  A premium of Rs.90/- and Rs.120/- will have to be paid by the Non-Gezetted and Gezetted employees for availing this medical facility.

The decision of the Health Card Scheme is taken by the Government by passing GO 174, 175 and 176 on Friday which will be announced officially by the Chief Minsiter Kiran Kumar Reddy today.

The TNGO President Devi Prasada Rao, TGO President Srinivasa Gowd, APNGO President Ashok Babu and Chief Secretary N.Chandrasekhara Reddy, Secretariat Employees Union leaders Narendara Rao and Murali Krishna expressed their pleasure on the Government’s decision.
