Suspension of 11 Seemandhra MPs ignite opposition

The suspension of 11 Seemandhra MPs from Loksabha has provoked intense agitation from opposition parties. A resolution passed by Congress Minister Kamalnath to suspend 7 Congress MPs and 4 TDP MPs was taken seriously.

Today's Parliament session was the venue for severe aggression, as the MPs in question tried to disrupt the proceedings by removing the mikes in the well of Loksabha. Consequently, speaker Meira Kumar accepted Kamalnath's resolution and suspended the Seemandhra MPs from Loksabha until 11th September, when the session ends.

Suspended Congress MPs include Lagadapati Rajgopal, Harsha Kumar, Anantha VenkataRami Reddy, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, Sai Pratap, Srinivasulu Reddy and Arun Kumar. Suspended TDP MPs include Siva Prasad, Nimmala Kistappa, Narayana Rao and Venugopal Reddy.

Their suspension raises questions over whether Seemandhra voices are being silenced in the struggle for power. These politicians have continuously spoken for the people, ensuring that Seemandhra voices are heard in the corridors of power.

However, recent developments seem to have a one sided approach, wherein a politically driven decision is being promoted without allowing the counterpoint to be heard. Suspension of these many Seemandhra MPs is sure to provoke much more violence.
