Seven New Airports in AP

The Government of India took a decision to construct seven new airports in the State- 2 in Telangana and 5 in Coastal Andhra.

2 New airports in Telangana will be at Warangal and Kothagudem.  5 in the Coastal Andhra region will be at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Tadepalligudem, Ongole and Nellore.  Small airports like at Kadapa will be modernized.

The construction of the airports will start within 6 months of time estimated cost of which will be between 1000 and 2000 crores of Rupees.

The construction of airports will be taken up by the Government with the partnership of private contractors.  The Government will provide land, water, electricity and other facilities at subsidized rates.
