UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi gave a call to the people's elected representatives that they should contribute to the relief fund of Uttarakhand.  

All MLAs and MPs are asked to donate one month remuneration for the Uttarakhand disaster victims' relief.   MPs are also asked to donate Rs.10 lakhs each by drawing from their constituency’s development fund.  

Union Minister Manish Tewari said that 14500 flood victims were rescued in Uttarakhand.  He also said that the announced financial aid of the Central Government is released to the tune of Rs.145 crores.
