Chalo Assembly News

The Chalo Assembly call given by Telangana political JAC is not given permission by the police.  JAC Chairman Prof.Kodandaram confidently says that the program will be conducted successfully.  In the wake of call to lakhs of people to join the rally to enter Assembly and bring pressure on the Government to make resolution for separate Telangana Statehood to be given, police are not willing to give permission for the rally.  Moreover prohibitory orders in the surroundings of the Assembly are issued by the police.

Ten OU Students unions announced their support to the rally and called  their members to participate in a great number and shake the Assembly voicing slogans for Telangana.

Police have arrested 15 JAC leaders and 40 Anganawadi workers at Mahaboobabad as a precautionary measure.

Harish Rao said that the Government will be held responsible for any loss or damage in the Chalo Assembly Program.  He said that the leaders will take responsibility if permission is given for a peaceful rally.  Otherwise only Govt. has to take responsibility for untoward thing if any happens in the protest.

A public meeting and a rally was conducted by BJP at Nizamabad for the preparation of the Chalo Assembly program.  When the rally went to The Collector's office to give a letter of request, the leaders were arrested there.

Nagam Janardan Reddy who joined BJP recently objected for the Chief Minister’s denial to pass a resolution in the Assembly for Telangana.  He said that Chalo Assembly should be allowed by the Government.  It is not right, Nagam observes, to say that the permission for it will be looked after by the police.
