Ek din ka Chairman

A 12th class passed girl Sunanda Kairwar was made chairperson of Nagda town Parishat, Ujjain Mandal in Madhya Pradesh.   The Chairperson Shobha Yadav some time ago in an attempt to encourage the students announced that whoever comes first in the State in the 12th Class exams will be offered the Chair of the Parishat for one day.

Sunanda got 91.8% in 12th class to stand first in the State of MP.  In the presence of her proud parents Sunanda took oath on Tuesday and attended all welfare and developmental activities.  Though she was not given Cheque drawing authority or to pass documents, Sunanda’s name appeared on the stones laid for the inauguration of many programs in the town.

Does the incident ring any bells? Making a cancer student a District Collector for one day and making a hero a one day Chief Minister are shown in movies.  But it happened in reality in Madhya Pradesh.

Sunanda said that her ambition is to study Engineering and become an IAS.
