CJ of AP High Court appointed

Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta Uttarkhand High Court is appointed as the Chief Justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh.  

After the clearance received from the President Pranab Mukherjee, the appointment of Kalyana jyothi Sengupta as the Chief Justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh is announced by the Center.  

Justice Sengupta was born in Kolkata on May 7th 1953.  He started his career as a lawyer in 1981 in Kolkata High Court to practice civil and criminal cases and constitutional matters.  He was made a permanent Judge in Kolkata High Court in 1997.  He also worked as an acting Chief Justice of Kolkata in 2012.  

As former Chief Justice Pinaki Ghosh’s tenure as Chief Justice ended on 7th March 2013, Justice V Eswaraiah became Acting Chief Justice.  But as the tenure of Justice Eswaraiah ended on 8th, Justice N.V.Ramana was made Acting Chief Justice on 10th March 2013.
