Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal denies his hand in the deals of his nephew V.Singla who was caught accepting bribe of Rs.90 Lakhs from Manjunath for promoting Mahesh Kumar to a lucrative position in Railways.

CBI had kept Mahesh Kumar under observation for some time who is working as General Manager, Western Railways as a Member (Staff) but wanted to become Member (Electrical). His position is equal to that of a Secretary in Government.

CBI arrested Singla and Manjunath and Sandeep Goyal through whom the unlawful deals are allegedly conducted. from Chandigarh and brought them to the CBI Office. Kumar was arrested at Mumbai.

Singla has been looking after the Minister's affairs at his Parliament constituency and a familiar personality in Chandigarh working for the Minister. All the same, the Minister denies his connection withh the bribe in question.
