Local residents had a scare for their lives after they heard a loud hissing noise from a pipe nearby which belongs to ONGC. This pipeline leaked some gas worrying people for their lives in Malkipuram of East Godavari district.

This is not the first such incident in the recent days. It is reported that similar incident once occurred in the same area in Adavipalem of Malkipuram not more than a week ago. Even after two such incidents the officers show no attention to the same. Residents of the location are no pleased with the officials who have no respect for the value of their lives.

Why is the government allowing such leaks happen frequently? Not only is the leak dangerous to the lives of people but also it is great loss of non-renewable source of energy to the government. This mishap occurs at a time when the prices of the fuel have been going up. It is high time that the government reacts to such incidents.
