Petrol price hike resulted in noisy protest in the Lok Sabha...

On Monday, The Lok Sabha was suspended till noon as the opposition noisily demanded a withdrawal of the hike in petrol prices.

Moreover, soon after the House met at 11 am, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other parties started raising slogans on the issue.

In fact, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar’s repeated requests to allow the proceedings of the question hour proved unimportant and the House was suspended till noon. As a matter of fact, petrol prices went up by Rs.1.40 a litre, excluding taxes, from March 1.

Perhaps, the protest is genuinely justified since the frequent elevation in price of petrol has become a sign of burden for the middle class and lower in the society and this unfair.
