Hyderabad bomb blasts: CCTVs were working, says CP

Hyderabad police commissioner Anurag Sharma has said that their intelligence department was working efficiently. He made this statement in the wake of the allegations from the opposition parties that questioned the efficiency of the intelligence department in connection with recent twin bomb blasts that took place in Dilsukhnagar of Hyderabad.

Mr Anurag Sharma has said that they have been conducting several checks in many parts of the city including Dilsukhnagar, Begumbazaar, Raniganj and Malakpet. Further, he said Octopus' support has been taken since November for checking. Further, the commissioner mentioned that they checked the vehicles on roads regularly. Also, he said additional forces have been deployed after the alert and surveillance has been in place at many theatres and shopping malls.

The commissioner, however, said that no one has been arrested so far in connection with the case. Talking about the substance that was used in blasts, Anurag Sharma mentioned that Ammonium Nitrate was used for explosion.  Speaking about the news that CCTV cameras' connection in Dilsukhnagar was not in place, Anurag Sharma ruled out that news and said CCTV cameras were very much working in Dilsukhnagar.

It may be noted that Hyderabad blasts shook not just the people of the city but across the globe. In  fact, United States of America too condemned the attack and offered its assistance in the probe.
