Owaisi hate speech: Akbaruddin Owaisi gets bail

Akbaruddin Owaisi, MIM legislator, who was arrested in Nirmal hate speech case and had been under judicial custody for over one-and-half month was today granted bail by the First Additional District Magistrate Court in Nizamabad. The bail was, however, granted on conditions that Akbaruddin would not visit Nirmal until the investigation was over and that he would not make any statements that would promote enmity between groups besides directing him for producing two sureties of Rs. 10,000 each.

The advocates of Akbaruddin Owaisi are trying to produce sureties in the court tomorrow. Once the sureties are submitted, Akbaruddin Owaisi would be set free from the judicial custody. It may be recalled that Akbaruddin Owaisi allegedly made some remarks in Nirmal of Adilabad district in the last week of December 2012. These speeches created uproar across the country after the national media took up the issue and conducted wide range debates. He was then taken into the custody under several sections of IPC including sedition.
