As the Cooperative elections are fast approaching factionism seems to be raising its ugly hoods in the Rayalaseema region. The worst was seen in Done town of Kurnool district where one party activist was brutally murdered by some miscreants owing to political grudges.

YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had a sympathy wave riding high in most parts of the state and higher in this region, as the leader hails from these parts.

However the intensity was so evident that even oppositions fearing a defeat are alleged to have eliminated Chakali Kittu, whose father was in the electoral fray.

Police suspect the local opposition party leader to be the brain behind the incident. Investigations are going on and developments may be out, during the course of the day.

The murder was conducted in the most dastardly manner, where a mob attacked the activists with sickles and stabbed him with knifes. The devastated body was found by locals and then the police sprang into action.

Politics and faction have turned into siblings of power which should not be so. Though it has been prevalent since sometime, this was the first time that a YSRCP activist was attacked and murdered, claim sources. (Wishesh AarKay)
