On the 17th death anniversary of the former Chief Minister and TDP founder N T Rama Rao, celebrities supporting the party and senior leaders paid their homage to the departed leader. Superstar Junior N T Rama Rao, the grandson of the veteran also visited NTR Ghat and paid his respects to the doyen, along with his family.

On this occasion, the star sympathizer of the party ascertained, 'power is ours in the coming 2014 general elections', while asking the cadre to be rejuvenated to affirm victory.

Impressed by 'Vastunna Mee Kosam', massive walkathon embarked by the party Supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu,  the young leader was all of praise for his uncle. He said that looking at the immense response of the large crowds gathering enroute, he was confident of a landslide victory in the coming elections.

It may be noted that the late NTR capsized the ruling Congress smooth sailing at the electorate in 1983, in less than a year of forming the party. It was the first time that  a non-congress CM sworn in, since independence. And since then he was the CM for three times never giving a chance for Congress to recoup till he was alive. On this day (January 18) in 1996, he died after a massive cardiac arrest when his own party men had back-stabbed him.
