Prayers are going on across the country for the quick recovery of 23-year-old victim of gang rape in Delhi. Andhra Wishesh tried speaking to a large number of people in Hyderabad and Secunderabad especially last night who offered prayers at various chapels and cathedrals. Most of them said that although they celebrated Christmas, they didn't skip Delhi rape victim from their prayers. Many pastors and fathers too said that they offered prayers for the victim and hoped that Lord will shower his kindest blessings on the victim for her speedy recovery.
It may be noted that Delhi rape victim's condition was still critical. She has been undergoing treatment at Safdarjung hospital in the national capital territory. The doctors, who released a fresh health bulletin last night, have said that the condition of the victim improved compared to the previous day. They said she was conscious and was able to communicate through signs.
Protests, on the other hand, are going on in Delhi against the heinous crime besides demanding justice to the victim. It is known that prime minister Manmohan Singh earlier said UPA Government took up the case seriously and justice would be done at the earliest. Meanwhile, a one-member panel was set up under retired judge of the High Court-Justice Usha Mehra- to probe the alleged negligence by the police in connection with the recent crime.
