'Cross' on Jagan's house, new controversy by TDP

Leading opposition party of the state vying power, TDP was in a consolidated position with internal feuds taking the ruling party to the roads. However the sudden surge of a third party in the fray in the form of YSR Congress could not be tolerated by the former. Earlier the TDP threw scathe attacks on the Kadapa MP being the epitome of corruption and slammed many verbal missiles on him.

However, the YSRCP, while defending their leader also were vociferous against the attackers but at a low ebb. On the other hand, they were consolidating their base by opening doors for desertions from other parties. Both the ruling Congress and the TDP suffered severe attrition at all levels.

In order to counter the growing popularity of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP sought new ways to attack the young leader. Former TDP minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy claimed that the holy symbol of 'Cross' on Jagan's elevation only showed his cheap ways to attract the community. He added that no other leader in the country had any religious symbol on their residences and this was a trick by the YSRCP to play on the minority cards.

The YSRCP took the comments light and only protested that the Lotus pond was the residence of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and it was not only Jagan's. This is another example to what an extent people could get into, to prove the other wrong.

Earlier Y S Vijayamma was criticized for carrying the Holy Bible, she countered that it was for blessing her with courage, as she needed the most under these circumstances. Now how will the YSRCP react to the latest controversy? (Wishesh AarKay)
