Neelam cyclone effect: Fishermen, farmers in vain

Even after officials stating that cyclone Neelam was having no or little effect in Andhra Pradesh, the situation doesn't seem to be the same. The moment cyclone made a landfall near Chennai coast, torrential rains accompanied by gusty winds threw life out of gear in many parts of Andhra Pradesh. Nonetheless, high alert has been issued in coastal region since as cyclone changed its path and moved towards coastal Andhra. In Krishna district, things seemed to be even worse. Andhra Wishesh team got in touch with a few fishermen in Krishna district. All of them had one thing in common—they questioned as to how could they earn their daily bread and butter if they don't venture into the sea. But then in case they move into sea, they would undoubtedly put their lives at risk, said officials.

It has to be mentioned here that wild tides are reaching up to 20 feet height at all sea shores in the state. On the other hand even farmers were getting tensed due to the threat to their paddy crops. They said that their lives would turn up side down in case incessant rains continue for next few days. Andhra Wishesh expresses solidarity with farmers and fishermen. Lets hope that situation limps back to normalcy in next few hours.
