Power Crisis in Hyderabad!

The state government that is reeling under acute power crisis has today extended another one hour cut to urban households in Hyderabad. Already the city is facing a three hour power cut and an addition of one more hour will be burdened on the public. The power scenario had been irking the common man since sometime on one side the frequent power cuts are ruining the urban life and on the other side the mounting electricity bills seem to be burdening the average house holds further. Hence from October 01 there shall be one more hour of power cut in the city says a generation Corporation's notification.

Andhra Pradesh Power Discoms have decided to increase the duration of power cuts. The demand for electricity on 29th September, 2012 was 290 million units and the supply was only 216 million units. The worst are the industries which have three days of power cuts, in  addition to the regular four hours daily in the nights.

Improper planning by the state government and unable to get a good bargain from the center, in spite of the central and the state governments ruled by the same party, are some pitfalls in the present crisis say sources.  But the government points the figures to the improper monsoons, low water levels in the dams and irregular supply of gas are the reasons.
