The Telangana Students Forum and the OU Student Joint Action Committee's have jointly called for a bandh today. This was owing to the alleged excesses of the police force during the 'Sagara Haram' (garland around Hussainsagar)  program conducted by the Telangana JAC, which had wide participation, yesterday.

The Student JAC wanted all the Ministers from T region to submit their resignation by today noon. Or else they informed that the student forces will protest infront of the houses of the leaders. They also hinted over the action on Seemandhra commercial establishments.

The city echoed with loud slogans of "Jai Telangana" on Sunday as students, teachers, government employees and activists of various peoples’ organisations proceeded towards Necklace Road, the venue of the Telangana march, in large numbers braving the heavy police security right from morning. Though political parties had issued appeal to the people to maintain utmost restraint in spite of preventive detention of dozens of leaders, the situation turned out differently.
