Prime minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to visit Satish Dawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh on September 8. He would witness the launch of PSLV-C 21, which would soar into sky on September 9. Manmohan Singh, who will arrive at Chennai from Delhi, would reach SHAR in a special helicopter. The Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy-in a special helicopter-would arrive an hour before at SHAR to welcome Manmohan Singh.

The prime minister would stay at mission control centre until the mission gets completed. Later, Manmohan Singh would address scientists at SHAR for about ten minutes after which he would leave for Delhi at 11.30 am. In the wake of PM's visit, elaborate security arrangements have been made in and around Sriharikota.
