Shobha Nagireddy advices media to telecast fair news

YSR Congress leader Shobha Nagireddy has lashed out at the media today over the coverage of YSRC bandh in the state. She has said that even though bandh evoked solid response, media was giving negative publicity to the bandh. She has also cited a vernacular news channel TV9. She said TV9 allegedly telecast a special bulletin stating that there was no impact of bandh in the state. To make her point, Shoba Nagi Reddy has said that similar kind of bulletins were telecast even during YS Jaganmohan Reddy's Odarpuyatra (console tour).

Shobha Nagireddy questioned as to why these channels, which earlier aired programmes on electricity problems in the state, today aired programmes against bandh. She advised the media to stop give fair news hereafter. It may be noted that YSRC observed a state wide bandh today against the frequent power cuts. The sources said left parties too geared up for a bandh, which they would reportedly call sometime in September on the same issue. Will government respond to these bandhs and provide uninterrupted power supply?
