Medium scale industries are encouraged to buy generators due to the ongoing power outages. The government seems to have said that the medium scale industries could claim 20 percent subsidy on such purchase. The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today assured the delegation of industrialists in Hyderabad that if required the government may waive the VAT on diesel procured for the generators too, as per sources.

Meeting a group of representatives from the  medium scale industries association, CM responded positively, to their pathetic situation regarding the erratic power outage which was ruining the segment. CM expressed his inability over the issue and asked them what should be done to overcome the situation. Based on their suggestions the CM seems to have given the assurance for the subsidies.

Earlier yesterday, Federation of Andhra Pradesh Industry (FAPI) felt that the state government incapability resulted in the power crisis in the state. The FAPI that met today in the city discussed the various issues of competency faced by the industrial segment due to the power outage. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
