Hyderabad celebrates Eid-Ul-Fitr with much fervour

Hyderabad, the city of nawabs and pearls, is celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr (the last day of Ramzan) with much pomp and geity. A large number of Muslim brethren-draped in white threads-were busy exchanging eid wishes by hugging each other. While some main roads were completely deserted since offices have been closed on account of gazetted holiday today, most of the lanes and colonies were, however, packed since everyone came to roads to wish eid mubarak.

Also, special prayers have begun at Mecca Masjid, Ek Minar (near Nampally), Meeralam dargah. On account of special prayers, traffic restrictions came into place at several places of the city between 8 am and 11. 30 am. Special bandobast has been kept in place at several important places of the city in order to avoid any untoward incident.

On the other hand, shops in old city were bustling with a large number of people who were reportedly competing with each other for purchasing gadgets and clothes. Also, dry fruits and samia (vermicelli) were being sold liked hot cakes since Muslim brethren prepare kheer (special dish with dry fruits and milk) today. Notably, 32 extra milk tankers were supplying milk in several colonies of the city today.
