Telugu Desam Party came down heavily on the statements made by Gudur TPD MLA Kodali Nani. TDP general secretary Varla Ramaiah has alleged that Kodali Nani was heading to make his living in jail by joining dacoits' party. Reacting on the demands of Kodali Nani, Varla Ramaiah has questioned as to why TDP should tender apologies to the former. Was it because he got given MLA ticket twice or for the image that he got due as a political leader due to TDP, he questioned.

It may be recalled that Kodali Nani got suspended from TDP for meeting YSRC honorary president YS Vijayamma and her son YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who are reportedly arch rivals of Telugu Desam Party. Kodali Nani demanded apology from TDP for suspending him without even giving him time for explaining things.
