AP heads in Medical seats: Kondru Murali

Minister for Medical Education,(APVVP & Hospital Services, Health, Family Welfare, Arogyasree, Health Insurance), Kondru Murali said that the state heads in the number of medical seats in the country. The state at present has nearly 5,600 seats in all its medical colleges put together, said the Minister while addressing media at Vishakapatnam, today. This is the highest number in the country, he added. However expressed despair about the various additional seats request in Osmania and Kaktiya University being regretted by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The Minister expressed dissent over the minor reasons expressed by the MCI in not allowing the additional seats.

However he had faith that the AICC general Secretary and the state in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad who also holds the portfolio of Medical Education could help them in this regards. He also ascertained that he would personally persuade the issue with Mr Azad and get the needful accomplished.

Speaking to the media he said all the parts of the state must be developed in a phased manner and no part will be left behind while the Congress was at the helms. The Minister further assured that their were adequate medicines stock available in the rural health centres for regular issues like dog-bite or snake bites. He also said that the government has adequate drugs for the agency area incase of dengue or malaria outbreak. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
