Congress legislator from Rayalaseema region made yet another statement on the burning statehood issue even after Congress high command appealing its leaders not to indulge in anything that could cost dearly to the party.  TG Venkatesh has reiterated his old statement 'Andhra Pradesh would remain in tact.' He has said that in case state is divided, he said Rayalaseema region should be given    special packages. Further, he said he would fight for Greater Rayalaseema.

It may be noted that TG Venkatesh, who once raised unified AP slogan, eventually extended his support to the proposal of Rayala-Telangana (merger of two districts of Rayalaseema region into Telangana). Now, he bounced back to his old slogan and also said Rayalaseema should be alloted special package. The political observers said that the statements of TG Venkatesh were contradictory.
