If proved shall stay away from politics: Law Min

Owing to persistent allegations by the opposition of his involvement in the Gali Bail Row, the Minister back lashed. The State Law Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy said that if anybody proves his involvement in the scandal, he is prepared to quit from active political life. The Minister said he felt sad over the proof less allegations. And his family was also disturbed over the reports surfaced in some sections of the media.  Mr Reddy further ascertained that though the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy was related to him, they never shared any business issues.

Mr Reddy also informed that an appropriate action on the media will be taken after approaching the Press Council. He also added that he had visited the Chenchalguda Prison, while the mining baron was lodged only as a part of his functions and not to meet the incarcerated minister.

The allegations were made by the opposition TDP that the Law Minister was instrumental in Gali getting the bail in the Obulapuram Mining scandal. It may be noted the CBI is proceeding to launch criminal proceedings on suspended CBI first additional special judge T Pattabhirama Rao who was charged with taking bribe as a quid pro quo for granting bail to Gali in the Obulapuram Mining scandal.
