Court defers Jagan's accounts freeze case to May 14

The petition that was filed by the former auditor of Jagati Publications challenging the freezing of accounts of Sakshi media house has come for hearing on Thursday at CBI special court in Nampally of Hyderabad.

The court, after hearing the arguments, has deferred the case to May 14. The counsels of Jaganmohan Reddy have argued that blocking of current accounts was against the law. They have said that there were no allegations against Indira Television (Sakshi TV) but CBI still froze the accounts of it.

The counsels have also told the court that thousands of employees of this group would face inconvenience due to the freezing of accounts.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is probing Jagan disproportionate case has told the court that as many as 1172 crore rupees in the accounts were procured through krido proko proposal. The bureau has also informed the court that they were looking into the other accounts of the same group and once they find irregularities, they would freeze those accounts too.

The CBI has also stated that only Rs. 249 crore was reflected in the balance of Jagati Publications on March 31, 2011.

After hearing the arguments of Jagan counsels and CBI advocates, the court has deferred next hearing.
