With opposition parties crying foul on the alleged links of the home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy’s son, Karthika Reddy with the prime accused in the murder case of faction leader Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy, the former minister from the Congress has demanded a probe into the alleged links between the both by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The Congress leader, Shankar Rao has spoken to the media at the Congress Legislature Party Office on Wednesday. He has told the media the main reason behind demanding CBI probe was that he was having apprehensions that the state agency—Crime Investigation Department (CID) might not give a clear cut report due to the involvement of the home minister.

It may be noted that Sabitha Indra Reddy has earlier ruled out the allegations linking his son with the accused Bhanu Kiran. She has said that all the facts would come to light in the investigation.

Shankar Rao has said that he suspected the role of Karthika Reddy in the alleged settlements made by Bhanu. He exuded confidence that everyone involved in the scams made by Bhanu would come to light in case the case is handed over to the CBI.

We have to wait and see whether the government hands over this case to the CBI or not. (Phani)
