`ACB is over doing in Liquor scam’: Ministers

The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau has hinted ministers’ involvement in the liquor scam. Many Ministers felt that the ACB was over doing the liquor scam and was rampant in harassing unnecessarily.  ACB is directly under the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s purview, does this comment also mean that the CM is over doing, is yet to be established.   But most feel it is just vindictive action against the political war heads feels the critics. But it may be noted that earlier the CM is to have said that he had no say in the ACB rampage, and the Law was taking its own course. Does this give him a clean slate? I doubt whether the ministers will agree with this, especially those facing the heat.

The only point that is worth noting and that gives clues to the vindictive stands is why the ACB is overdoing the exercise, when the excise department has an enforcement wing attached to it to check the irregularities. Even though the ACB’s infringement is unsolicited, why this excess? Feel Ministers.

After "exposing" the liquor syndicate-political-officials nexus, ACB has intensified its searches on offices of the liquor syndicate and the excise department across the state and seized documents, besides pertaining to irregularities, registering 26 cases since December last year. It is rumored that 20 top ministers and nearly 120 MLAs are supposed to have been involved. This accounts to almost over 50 percent of the sitting house. Sounds alarming, but much congruent facts are required to frame anything against the political war heads.  Several officials from the police and excise department are arrested or suspected in this mighty liquor scam say sources. This only shows how far the political administration hand-in-glove with the corrupt revenue generation sources. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
