Vijayasai plea to use laptop dismissed

The high court today dismissed a petition of auditor Vijayasai reddy who sought permission to use laptop in his jail cell.

The CBI special court at Nampally in Hyderabad had earlier dismissed such a petition by him following which he approached the state apex court.

Vijayasai, who was arrested in the illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, has been presently lodged in the Chanchalguda jail. He sought permission from the court to use laptop saying he had been working as an auditor for several companies and would like to continue his services from the jail.

Meanwhile, the CBI special court today extended the judicial remand of the Emaar scam accused BP Acharya, Sunil Reddy and Vijayaraghavan till Feb 22. The remand of Koneru Rajendra Prasad, also an accused in the case, was extended till Feb 17.

The court also adjourned by two weeks hearing on the petition filed by Vijayaraghavan seeking removal of his name from the case.

The special court also adjourned till Feb 22 hearing on a petition filed by the jailed former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy seeking directions to the CBI to return his helicopter and foreign cars to his family.  (JUBS)
