Metro Rail boss grilled by CBI in Jagan case

CBI sleuths today grilled the Metro Rail MD Mr Balakrishna in the illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Balakrishna earlier worked as the Joint Director of the Municipal Administration department during the YSR regime and played a key role in granting several favours to the Penna Cements Ltd which invested heavily in companies owned by Jagan.

CBI officials grilled him on the favours extended to this cement company and recorded his statement.

On the other hand, CBI has questioned businessman AK Dandamudi who invested Rs.10 Cr in Jagan-owned Sakishi daily and other organizations. The CBI asked him the reasons for investing that much amount when the daily was making huge losses. Dandamudi is also one of the accused in Jagan case.

The representatives of Vanpic Sea Ports and Penna Cements also attended a questioning session by the CBI today.

Meanwhile, the CBI special court today extended the judicial remand of Vijayasai reddy, a right hand man of Jagan, till Feb 21. (JUBS)
