Emaar accused Ranga allowed to visit Tirumala

Mr Tummala Ranga Rao, accused number 12 in the APIIC-Emaar land scam, was today permitted by the CBI special court at Nampally in Hyderabad to visit Tirumala to have darshan of Lord Balaji.

During the hearing on Ranga Rao’s petition seeking permission to visit Tirumala, the court asked the CBI counsel if he had any objections on the issue. The CBI counsel replied saying he had no objection and he could be permitted to go to Tirupati.

The court then accepted his plea and allowed him to visit Tirumala for three days from Feb 9. Ranga Rao was already granted anticipatory bail by the special court and warned not to leave Hyderabad without its permission.

The court had earlier allowed another accused in the Emaar case Mr Koneru Rajendra Prasad to visit Sabarimala in Kerala for five days. It is highly rumored that the CBI has been soft towards Ranga Rao after he agreed to turn approver in the case. (JUBS)
