In an incident that makes the civilized society hang its head in shame, some persons had paraded a Dalit woman naked in a village in Satara district of Maharashtra after developing a grudge against the family today.

The incident occurred in Moolgav village in Patan taluka after her son reportedly eloped with an upper caste girl of the same village.

Police said the girl’s family elders had resorted to this shameful and revengeful act for teaching her a lesson for the act of her son.

After learning about the incident from some of the villagers, police rushed to the village and registered cases against the girl’s family members for outraging the modesty of a woman.  They have arrested five persons including there women belonging to the girl’s family.

The victim, who was in a deep shock, was admitted to a hospital in Karad. (JUBS)
