Producers angry over Balu’s remarks

Top producers of the Tollywood are angry with famed playback singer SP Balasubramanyam for his remarks during the recent 50 days’ function of the mythological movie ‘Sri Rama Rajyam.’

Speaking as one of the guests during the function, Balu suggested to producers to make such good movies as ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ at least once in a year.

“There are top producers like D. Ramanaidu but they are all making only commercial movies always. Even commercial movies also have an element of risk most of the times. I request the producers to think it over and produce some good movies like this at least once in a year to enhance the status and prestige of the Telugu film industry,” said Balu.

He also advised the producers to be mentally prepared for the losses when such movies were made.

Reports said some top producers are angry with SP’s free advice to them. “How can we make such movies when the youth are not preferring?” producers seem to be questioning among themselves.

Some producers have reportedly commented that film making is their business and they can’t afford to make movies like ‘Sri Rama Rajyam.’  “Shall we burn our hands?” a producer had asked.

“He can only give some free advice but he never reduces his remuneration for his singing,” another producer had reportedly commented. (JUBS)
