T–JAC gives hot reception to Babu, opposes Ryhtu Poru Padayatra

In spite of a caution from the Warangal District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar, late last night, NCB was serious to proceed to the district.

The Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandra Babu Naidu is to launch his `Rythu Porubhata in Warangal district today. As per schedule he shall launch the agitation at 9.30am from Paimbarti in Jangaon Mandal. The TDP Chief plans to trek a stretch of 11km from Lakkapalli in Kodagandla Mandal while launching the `Rythu Poru Radayatra.’ Later at Palkurthi he would participate in a `Rythu Poru Bahiranga Sabha.’ Security has been tightened in the district, for the leaders visit.

High tension is expected in the district, as the Telangana Rastra Samithi spear heading the Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC), plans to give a retort to NCB, during his visit. The students of the Osmania University tried to stop the convoy of the TDP leader at Tarnaka junction. But police intervened and dispersed the crowds. But the entire atmosphere in the district seems to be tensed. Protesting against the TDP, private schools and educational institutes in the district have closed for the day. The T- activists have stopped buses plying as a mark of protest. The T-JAC activists have squatted at the Mahboob Nagar bus depot. The activists were shouting anti TDP slogans.

Police have arrested a few T-JAC activists’ anticipating problems while the TDP leader arrives. This has added to further tensions. Senior leaders like MLA Vinay Bhaskar and TRS district convenor P Sudarshan Reddy were arrested along with many other activists.

Former MP Vinod Kumar said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has been sponsoring Naidu and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s yatras to dilute the agitation by using police force.
