Visakhapatnam congress MP and Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Ms. Purandhareswari said she would contest from the Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency in the 2014 general elections and there is no question of changing her constituency.

In an interview to a Telugu daily, she said, though she was a non-local, the Visakhapatnam people elected her with love and affection last time and she was confident of receiving the same love and affection next time also.

It may be recalled that congress Rajya Sabha member Mr T. Subbirami reddy had recently expressed his desire to contest from Visakhapatnam constituency next time as per the wishes of the people there and asked Purandhareswari to move to Narsaraopet or Bapatla or Ongole.

“I don’t have any differences with any one but I have repeatedly said I would contest from Visakhapatnam only next time and am telling the same thing now,” she said indicating a severe contest for the seat between the two in the 2014 elections. (JUBS)
