HC cancels bail to Rajagopal

The high court today cancelled the bail given to Mr Rajagopal, accused number 3 in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy.

The CBI special court of Nampally had granted bail to Mr Rajagopal in the case a few days ago but the CBI got the bail suspended arguing that it would be dangerous to release him on bail as there were chances of his influencing witnesses in the case.

The CBI argued that there was a threat to the lives of some witnesses from him and he should not be released. The CBI officials then moved the high court seeking cancellation of bail.

Cancelling the bail, the High Court said that granting of bail to Rajagopal would not be in the interest of justice as investigation has been continuing in the case. (JUBS)
