Chiranjeevi seeks three cabinet berths for his MLAs

PRP founder-turned congress leader and Tirupati MLA Mr Chiranjeevi said that his erstwhile party’s MLAs have been expecting to get 3 ministerial berths in the state cabinet representing the three regions of the state.

“We want three of our MLAs from the three regions of the state to be inducted into the state cabinet,” Chiranjeevi said while addressing a media conference in Delhi today. “We will bring the matter to the notice of the congress high command,” he said.

To a question, he said he was ready to take up any responsibility he would be given by the party leadership in the interests of the party. “I never hankered after posts but I am ready to take up whatever responsibility the party leadership gives,” he said, adding that he has highest regards for the congress high command.

Responding to the assertions of his party’s MLA Ms. Sobha Nagi Reddy that he had no right to seek her disqualification, Chiranjeevi said he had every right to complain about her defiance of whip during the no-confidence motion in the assembly.

“Technically, the PRP has not yet merged with the congress in the assembly and she was a PRP member when she defied the whip,” he said asserting she must be disqualified. “Any how, Speaker will take the decision on the issue going by the rules,” observed the mega star.

Chiranjeevi arrived in Delhi this morning to participate in a programme on cleanliness in the country. (JUBS)
