Rajagopal connived with Rajasekhar who worked for Gali : CBI

The CBI today filed a counter in the special CBI court of Hyderabad objecting to the bail petition of former mining department director Mr Rajagopal saying he played a key role in the OMC illegal mining affairs. The court adjourned till tomorrow further hearing on the bail petition.

The CBI counsel said that Rajagopal’s brother-in-law Mr Rajasekhar worked as director of the Obulapuram Mining company (OMC) owned by the jailed former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan reddy and connived with Rajagopal.

“Rajagopal and his brother-in-law were hand in glove and all the illegalities took place when the latter held the position of director in the OMC. Whatever his brother-in-law Mr Rajasekhar said, Rajagopal did that,” said in its counter and argued opposing the ideas of bail for him.

CBI said that Rajagopal was even capable of influencing the witnesses and requested the court not to grant bail to him.

Meanwhile, suspended IAS officer Srilakshmi attended the special court during the hearing of the case. The court directed her to attend further hearing on March 16. (JUBS)
