Tough times ahead for dubbed movies in AP

The Tollywood film producers today unanimously decided to restrict the exhibition of dubbed Telugu movies in AP.

The producers, at a meeting of the general body of the Producers’ Council held at the premises of the AP Film Chamber of Commerce, decided to ensure that the dubbed movies are screened at only 85 theatres in the state at any given period.

The producers have also decided to ensure that mostly original Telugu movies are screened in the state during the festival times.

The general body has unanimously agreed on six issues concerning the Tollywood and the decisions will be put for approval at tomorrow’s executive committee meeting.

The Telugu film producers have taken the decision to restrict the screening of dubbed movies as they are cutting into the growth of the Telugu film industry. Most of the times, dubbed movies are turning out to be biggest hits while the original Telugu movies are ending up as flops.  (JUBS)
