Sri Rama Rajyam runs into trouble

The AP Rajaka Sangham (Washer men’s Association) today approached the state Human Rights Commission (HRC) seeking a direction to the makers of the film ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ to remove from it the character ‘chakali tippadu’ donned by actor Brahmanandam before its release.

The movie, featuring actors Balakrishna and Nayanatara in the lead roles, is slated for release across AP and abroad on Nov 17.

Expressing apprehensions that the Brahmanandam’s character might denigrate the sentiments of washer men, the association asked the HRC to direct the producers to remove the scenes involving him before it is released.

The association has already threatened to block the release of the movie if Brahmanandam’s character is not removed.

Legendary director Bapu, known for his ability to direct mythological movies, has directed the film produced by debutant producer Yalamanchili Sai Baba. The music by veteran Ilayaraja has already created a sensation among the music lovers in AP.
