Naidu, his family, allies, friends and relatives to face probe

As the high court directed the various investigating agencies to look into the alleged illegalities committed by the TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu during his regime, he will now face separate investigation by the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the state police independently.

The three agencies will submit three separate sealed cover reports to the high court with in 90 days. Based on the reports of preliminary investigation, the high court will take a final decision on the need for full probe. If there is no substance in the reports, the allegations against Naidu will be dismissed outright.Admitting the PIL filed by Pulivendula YSR congress MLA Ms Vijayalakshmi seeking an investigation into Chandrababu’s alleged illegal properties, the court directed the agencies to probe the former Chief Minister, his family members and his associates under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and the Money Laundering Act, 2002.The agencies will probe allotment of lands, grant of licenses, and decisions taken by him during his tenure as the state CM. The disinvestment policies pursued by him will also be thoroughly probed.

As per the orders given by the division bench consisting of acting Chief Justice Ghulam Mohammad and Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao, 15 family members and friends of Mr Naidu, including his wife Bhuvaneswari Devi and son Lokesh will face the multi-pronged probe.Naidu family’s Heritage Foods, Mr Ahobila Rao alias Billy Rao of IMG Bharata, media baron Ch. Ramoji Rao and his Ushodaya Enterprises, TDP MP Mr Y. Satyanarayana Chowdhary alias Sujana Chowdhary, Mr Naidu’s distant relative Mr V. Nagaraja Naidu, Madhucon Sugar and Power Industries represented by its founder and TDP MP Mr  Nama Nageswara Rao, actor turned-real estate business man Maganti Rajababu alias Murali Mohan, Kakinada Sea Ports chairman Mr Karnati Venkateswara Rao, and Chintakunta Munuswamy Ramesh alias C.M. Ramesh, chairman of the Rithwik group of companies will also face the probe along with Naidu and his family members.
