Law minister Pratap Reddy meets Gali in jail during his official visit

Law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy made use of his official visit to the Chanchalguda jail on Friday to meet his relative Gali Janardhan reddy and inquire about his well being in the ‘A’ barracks.

Gali Janardhan Reddy is the husband of Mr Pratap Reddy’s niece and both had a brief chat during the minister’s visit. Gali thanked the minister for taking the risk of visiting him while the minister inquired about his health and well being in the jail.

Gali took no time to tell the minister that if his father Erasu Ayyapu Reddy had been alive, he would not have been languishing in jail. In a sense, Gali wanted to indicate by saying so that the minister has done nothing for his release from the jail.

Gali in his limited conversation expressed the wish that he would get bail after the expiry of 90 days in jail. The minister wished him good luck and went ahead with his official inspection and discussions.

Pratap reddy made the visit to the jail to observe the conditions prevailing there and have an assessment on the proposed jail reforms. He met the jail officials and some of the prisoners.

The minister was one of two law ministers appointed as members of a central committee on jail reforms. In his two-and-a half-hour visit to the jail, he also inspected barracks and examined the conditions there.
