Konda Lakshman begins fast for T state

Veteran freedom fighter of the T region and former minister Mr Konda Lakshman Bapuji today began his 7-day fast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding the Centre to form separate state of Telangana.

The fast will be between 11 am and 6 pm daily for a week. Congress MP of the T region Mr Madhu Yaskhi Goud, TDP Telangana Forum leader Errabilli Dayakara Rao and TDP suspended leader Mr Nagam Janardhan reddy have announced their support to the fast undertaken by the freedom fighter.

Before launching his fast, Bapuji visited the Raj Ghat and paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Komatireddy begins fast at Nalgonda

Komatireddy Venkatareddy, who quit as minister and MLA, today began his indefinite fast at the Telangana Chouk clock tower centre in Nalgonda demanding the formation of Telangana state.

Before leaving for Nalgonda, he warned the government not to disturb his fast and said he decided to undertake the fast to put pressure on the Centre to declare Telangana. “There are no politics involved in this and I call up on all T activists to support my fast for the sake of Telangana,” he said while addressing a media conference in Hyderabad.
