Gampa Govardhan joins TRS

GoverdhanKCRKamareddy TDP MLA Mr Gampa Govardhan, who quit the party, joined the TRS this evening in the presence of party president K. Chandrasekhara rao.

Govardhan went to the Telangana Bhavan along with his supporters and took the membership of the TRS. Earlier, he went to the assembly and submitted his resignation letter to the assembly speaker Mr Nadendla Manohar.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that the Telangana TDP MLAs have no other alternative except for forcing their leader Mr. Chandrababu Naidu to submit a fresh letter to the Centre supporting the formation of Telangana state.

Meanwhile, several Seema Andhra leaders made fun of KCR’s statement that the Centre has been thinking of creating the Telangana state merging Ananthapuram and Kurnool districts in the new state to be created.

“There is no such proposal by the Centre and even if it is being considered also, it is not acceptable to us,” Minister Sailaja Nath, who is opposing the division of the state, told journalists.
